Hi guys! We hope you all have had the most incredible first week of 2017! The blog certainly has been busy, hasn’t it?! We kicked off the new year with a bang on Monday and announced our Engagement Session Giveaway, on Tuesday we shared our best engagement + anniversary photos from 2016, on Wednesday we shared our best wedding photos from 2016, and yesterday we gave you guys a little peek into our first home! Whew!! Talk about jumping right back into work after the holiday weekend, huh?
We’re actually off work as of yesterday, and we’re on a retreat for our business! We had the idea to get away for a few days after the holiday crazy settled down, in our offseason, right at the beginning of a new year to plan 2017 out. And y’all, we’re so pumped for this year. Part of the purpose of our retreat is to re-evaluate a lot of areas of our business for 2017, from setting goals to deciding what worked and what didn’t last year. We’ll be dreaming about what God can do with us and our company in 2017, and we refuse to dream small dreams this year. We’ll be talking endlessly about new ways to love and serve both our couples and other photographers. And, of course, you can bet we’ll be putting the finishing touches on some big surprises and projects that will be rolling out over the next few months, too… it’s just how we roll ???? Ha… I always feel like we have something up our sleeves!
So! We just want to encourage y’all to take some time this weekend to do something similar. Even if you are not a photographer or a business owner, we believe so much in the power of being intentional and setting goals (which, in my opinion, are healthier than resolutions!) and giving yourself real, small action steps to make those things happen. How can you be intentional with your 2017? It’s twelve brand new months for you to be, to become and to grow. Don’t waste them, friends.
You don’t have to leave your house for a few days… just spend an hour with a journal or your laptop and decide what kind of year you’re going to pursue. I’ll be writing out my goals and intentions for 2017 and putting them where I can see them on my inspiration board in our office… I find that helps me out a ton.
You guys, we’re so excited for this year. We can’t wait to see y’all back here on the blog on MONDAY, and we hope your weekend is the best!
Happy 2017, and xoxo!
