Happy Friday friends! This is truly one of my favorite weeks of the whole entire year. There’s just something so magical about the week between Christmas and New Years to me… everything seems to slow down a little, lots of parties and family time is on the calendar, and it feels okay to relax the normal pace of life! (I mean, I took ten minutes out of my work day to read a new book the other day and nothing bad happened! Who knew?! Ha!)
I also love this week because it’s one of the most popular weeks to get engaged, and we have SO MANY sweet friends who now are sporting some brand new bling on their left hands! It’s the most exciting thing ever… being engaged is so fun! We’re hearing from so many sweet, newly engaged girls these days, and it makes us so excited for all that both 2017 and 2018 will hold!! It’s going to be one heck of a year!
By far, one of the absolute highlights of our week was getting to photograph Leah and Colin’s engagement session on Wednesday afternoon! Ohh my word, you guys… these two were just the most fun. Of course, it was freezing cold outside on Wednesday, as Illinois tends to be this time of year ???? But Leah and Colin just embraced it and had an absolute blast together throughout their entire session! One of the things I just adored about these two is the fact that you can tell they just know each other so well. There’s not much better than marrying your best friend, and it’s so obvious that these to adore each other so much! Plus, Leah’s rose gold engagement ring is a total stunner, so that was just icing on the cake! (Wait until you see the shots of her ring below! We’re obsessed!)
Leah and Colin, I’m so happy I finally got to meet you both! We loved getting to celebrate your engagement with you, and we’re already so very excited to email your full gallery over soon! It was incredibly hard to pick favorite images from your engagement shoot, so prepare for a total overload of cute photos of the two of you! We’re so happy for you guys… ENJOY this sweet season of engagement!
Xoxo,
Caitlin and Luke
