Almost a year ago I, Luke, chose to leave the nursing program at Illinois State University with only one semester left until I graduated. Whenever I tell this story, I always make sure to let people know I decided to leave so close to when I was about to finish… I don’t leave that detail out, because I usually get the follow up question of, “Why not just finish the degree?” Without that follow up question, I may not be able to tell you about my God and how good He is!
After quitting, I had no idea what the future would hold for me. A month or so after quitting, I found myself sitting at one of our church, Eastview’s, Faith and Work nights. Our friend Robbie Osenga happened to be speaking that night, and he talked about finding your calling. As the night went on, I was continually reminded and reassured that the decision I had made to quit nursing school was the right one. It didn’t make my life any easier the next day after hearing that, but what it did do is open up my mind. I no longer had to fall into society’s way of doing things. Robbie has since started Clarity in Calling, a process that is all about finding your passion and doing what God intended you to do while you are here on this earth.
I have sat down with Robbie a couple times since then, and whenever we talk, he always makes my head spin with new ideas and thoughts. He has a crazy spiritual gift for making people think outside of the box! If you don’t feel like you are in the right spot in your career or you just don’t have any idea where you are going, I want to encourage you to check out Clarity in Calling.
Caitlin and I also recently watched Robbie’s brand new Ted Talk, which we encourage you to check out below. It is awesome, and it may be just what you need to hear right now. You can also check out Clarity in Calling HERE on Robbie’s website. It may just change your life! Caitlin and I would also love to talk with you if you have any questions, and I know Robbie would love to make your brain spin too! 🙂
Have a great Wednesday!
