Hey friends! We figured we’d take a small step back today and share a little bit with you all about who we are!! As with every aspect of our business, for us, this is more about the relationship and the people than us just dumping a ton of helpful content out into the world! 😉 We want you to be able to truly get to know us and who we are, so that you feel you can relate to the people who are helping you grow your business!! Before we dive in, let’s cover the basics! If you’re brand new around here, we’re Caitlin & Luke, and we are a husband & wife wedding photo & video team based in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois- but we travel all over Illinois and the Midwest getting to photograph the sweetest couples ever! Now, here are 4 things about us!

01. OUR BUSINESS’ STORY
I (Caitlin!) started our business when I was in high school, and my focus was on lifestyle, family and senior sessions at the time. In fact, shooting weddings was not a goal of mine… that is, until I shadowed a photographer for a wedding one day, and I fell in LOVE with the wedding world! I had no idea what drew me to this world so much, but I knew THIS was what I was supposed to do for my career. I shot my first solo wedding just after graduating high school and turning 18, and as they say, the rest is history! After Luke and I met, we took our business full-time at the beginning of 2016, and though we worked harder than we ever thought possible throughout that first few years, it paid off, and we could not be more grateful for where we are now! (Read how Luke quit nursing school at an unideal time for our business but it still worked out!)
02. HOW WE MET
We met in college! We were just 19 and 21 when we met (#babies!), and we met through our church’s campus ministry & some mutual friends! As soon as we started spending time together, we truly became inseparable… and within just weeks, we knew we’d not only found our best friend, but the person we’d spend the rest of our life with. It was such a special season… we can’t believe it was already almost 6 years ago! Time has flown!
03. WHEN WE AREN’T WORKING…
When we have downtime, you can usually find us spending time with our friends or our families! We also are total homebodies and love just spending time together at our home. Our ideal night would include curling up with a good book, our pup Oliver, our favorite playlist on Apple Music, some Chick Fil A, and just spending the night reading and talking. (Bonus points if we have a new episode of This Is Us or The Blacklist!) We truly are best friends and just adore being together, no matter if we’re going on a drive around town or traveling to a new destination together!
04. WE’RE VERY SIMILAR, BUT ALSO POLAR OPPOSITES
While I’m a total girly girl & love anything pink, peonies, home decor, monograms & Target, Luke is simple! He loves wearing neutrals, and doesn’t feel the need to decorate. 😉 Also, Luke loves being around people, and I am much more of a homebody! Maybe most importantly, Luke can’t stand the taste of coffee, but I am completely obsessed with it- particularly Starbucks. I’m convinced he’s missing out and am determined to help him love it as much as I do someday!!!
