Hey friends!! We hope you’re having an amazing week so far! We wanted to pop in really fast today and share the answer to one of our MOST frequently asked questions of all time. Are you ready for it?
“What’s your photography style?”
This question can mean a lot of things, but we’ve found that when people ask us this, they’re really getting at two things. One, they want to know if our style of photography is more documentary or posed. And two, they want to know how we edit our images. It’s kind of a loaded question, right? However, we love this question, because it gives a chance to chat about why we pose, shoot and edit the way we do! 🙂
Our brand’s photography style can be described with these words: crisp, bold, classic, authentic, clean, joyful, colorful, bright and real.
We want your images to look and feel like real life, and we believe that your images should LOOK the way you remember each moment FEELING. Does that make sense? We want you to look back on your images in fifty years and be able to see you and your wedding day just as it all was. We love clean, crisp images with a lot of natural color, and our very favorite images are those just exploding with real, pure joy. The funny thing is that our favorite portraits are typically of your favorite moments on a wedding day, just because of the “joy” common denominator. It’s the thread that runs through it all.
In our images, the colors look real, the emotions are raw, and the joy is evident. Our clients are directed while we’re shooting, but they’re not necessarily posed- we love finding a balance of making sure they never feel awkward and always know what they should be doing in every moment of portrait time, without forcing them into unnatural poses. We’re all about the authentic moments around here, and this is the best way we’ve found to document them during your portrait time on your wedding day and even during your engagement session.
We’re super passionate about maintaining this style in all of our images! We hope y’all enjoyed this little answer to one of our most frequently asked questions… and be sure to let us know if you’d like to see more of these mini-faq posts in the near future! 😉
Xoxo!
