Steven & Shannon: A Farmer City Fall Wedding

October 19, 2016

We had such a fun double header wedding weekend on Saturday and Sunday! Double headers are super crazy and take a TON to prepare for… but they are so worth it! I mean, getting to celebrate with TWO couples in the same weekend?! It doesn’t get much better than that!

After shooting Melissa and Tim’s gorgeous wedding at Sangchris Lake in Kincaid on Saturday night, we drove to Luke’s family’s home for some pizza and to catch up with his family! During our busy season, spending time with family can be challenging and we don’t get to do it as often as we’d love to… so being able to go see them on Saturday night was so much fun! I heard someone say recently that October for photographers is like April for accountants, and y’all, I believe it… this month as been BUSY but so fun! Even if every day feels like one big chance to cross of as much on my planner as I possibly can, it’s okay… we ADORE our couples, we love working together and it’s gorgeous outside!

Shannon and Steven’s wedding actually didn’t start until a little bit later on Sunday, which meant we got to go to church before we shot their wedding! I honestly don’t think that has ever happened for us, and it was so refreshing to get to catch our amazing church’s 9am service before heading home to change into our wedding clothes, grab the gear we had ready to go, eat a quick lunch and head off to Farmer City to celebrate with these two cuties! The sun started to come out just as we arrived at the house where Shannon was getting ready, which was such a blessing. I love cloudy wedding days for a lot of reasons… but having some gorgeous, sunny portraits is ALWAYS a good thing, right?

This day was filled with so many sweet moments, the formation of some seriously sweet memories for Shannon and Steven, and most important a brand new commitment between these guys to love each other forever! Their personal vows to each other during their ceremony had me tearing up for sure… they were so incredibly heartfelt and sweet, and it was so obvious that the love these guys have for one another is so real and so deep. They’ve been together for TEN YEARS now, so they were so excited to finally be married! ????

Shannon and Steven, thank you so much for inviting us into your beautiful day! It was an honor to get to celebrate your brand new marriage and we hope you have the most amazing and relaxing honeymoon! We also hope that you love each and every photo, and we’re so excited to share the rest SOON!

Xoxo,
Luke and Caitlin
