Happy Wednesday!! Today I’m sharing a few quick tips with you about something I love a whole lot… organization. It makes me smile to even type that, because I SO have not always been this way! I was the little girl who stuffed all her things under her bed or in her closet so that she didn’t have to clean her room. #oops Nowadays, I can’t afford to be disorganized, and although my life tends to look a little messy when we get busy. 90% of the time, I can say I’m pretty organized! There are a few tools I use for organization, and I’m happy to share them with you today! I hope they help you get a head start on organizing your life, whether you’re a student, business owner or mama!
My Simplified Planner & Cozi
I’ll forever be a paper planner girl! I adore my Simplified Planner by Emily Ley and have no idea what I would do without it! It has my ENTIRE life in it… our work and home schedules, my blog posts, reminders, meal plans, cleaning and editing due dates. I use the daily version, but Emily also offers academic and weekly versions, which may be perfect for you. Each month, week and morning I set aside time to write out our schedule and prioritize tasks. Luke and I also utilize Cozi to keep all our appointments and schedule synced up! We love Cozi because it allows us both to be signed into the app on our phones. We always know what our schedule looks like!
Gmail Folders
If you could see our work Gmail account, you would probably laugh… We have folders for our folders, y’all. ???? But, our system works for us! Our main folders are marked BRIDES and BUSINESS, and those big folders hold other, more specific folders. For instance, within BRIDES, each year has its own folder full of couples, and each couple has their own folder for their communication. Our BUSINESS folder has other folders for each aspect of the back-end of our business… from taxes to records and communication with other vendors. Whenever an emails has been responded to, it gets immediately filed in the proper folder, which makes it easy to find messages and information when we need them!
Unroll.me
Speaking of Gmail, if you guys have not signed up for Unroll.me yet, you are seriously missing out! Unroll.me is essentially a service that allows you to combine all your promotional emails and subscriptions into one email that you receive daily. No longer do I receive 100 individual promotional emails with updates, discounts and sales throughout my day… instead, I select a time I want to receive one email with all of those emails inside it, categorized with cute little previews. I don’t know what I ever did without Unroll.me!
Honeybook
In September, I’m going to be sharing a lot about our new business management software and how I utilize it to keep track of our workflow, but it’s safe to say that Honeybook has forever changed how we work! Honeybook is essentially my work brain, and it is what I use to run my portion of the back end of our business. Contracts, questionnaires, timelines and invoices are all organized within Honeybook, and much like our Gmail system, each couple has their own “workspace” with all their files and communication. It is the bomb!
These are just the main few resources I use on a daily basis to keep the wheels on our life, so to speak! I am so NOT the most organized person in the world… but I figure my chances of becoming more organized are increased the more I use these tools, right?! Ha!
