You might think we are completely crazy for trying to pull off a full styled shoot in the middle of wedding season – and a few weeks ago, I would’ve probably agreed with you! – but friends, we did it. Yet it’s only because we partnered with an absolutely incredible team of vendors that we were able to pull off this total dream of a styled shoot last week… and we are so very excited to get to share this romantic red, pink and gold styled shoot with you all today!
A few months back, Luke and I started dreaming and chatting about what we wanted to create for a styled shoot this summer, and we kept coming back to the fact that more than anything, we desperately wanted to create something unique and different from the norm. We wanted a big & wild bouquet, a classic yet fresh wedding gown, a tablescape overflowing with color and florals, a naked cake with a twist, classic stationary with a twist, and some completely unexpected touches thrown in for good measure. (Please not the hanging floral arrangements from Pollen and Pastry, friends… oh my goodness!) we started creating a plan and a design with our dear friend Candice of Pollen and Pastry, we realized that a lot of what we wanted could be accomplished with the addition of succulents everywhere throughout the shoot, so we went with it… and we are obsessed with the results. (See if you can spot the cactus in the bouquet! We dare you to try.)
When Friday morning finally rolled around and we started assembling everything at Comlara Park, we could not help but become overcome with thankfulness… it was simply incredible to get to see how everyone’s hard work and efforts had come together into the reality of our dreams for this shoot. Plus, we had the very sweetest models of all time, Abbie and Cole, who made this morning a total BLAST. These guys were so kind, so funny, and totally up for anything… we can’t wait to grab dinner with you guys soon, you two! 😉 Plus, Abbie works at Michelle’s Bridal & Tuxedo, so finding a gown that was perfect for her was such a breeze!!

Succulent-inspired cupcakes for the WIN! Pollen and Pastry killed it with these…
Callie of Fabulous Affairs created exactly what we had envisioned for this entire stationery suite! It is the perfect blend of classic and bohemian… and we love the floral detailing on the inside of the envelopes! It’s the perfect touch.
We just have to point out the brush stroke naked cake Candice of Pollen and Pastry created! This is a trend we are totally hoping to see more of in the very near future! 🙂
Can you even handle these unique hanging arrangements by Pollen and Pastry?! We’ve never seen anything like these before! Can one of our brides please incorporate these into their wedding decor? 😉
