On Saturday, we had the amazing opportunity to travel up to Kincaid, Illinois to celebrate with Melissa and Tim… it was FINALLY their gorgeous wedding day! It had been cloudy back home all morning, but as we got closer to Kincaid, the sun came out and we were blessed with the most beautiful weather for this special day! Luke and I had been so very excited for this day with Melissa and Tim ever since we started chatting with them… Melissa had seemed like the sweetest person ever, even just over email and in our phone calls. We finally got to sit down with Melissa and Tim in person about two weeks ago and officially meet and chat through the details of their day! Over Starbucks coffees, we heard all about how the little details of their big day were coming along, from the incredible decorations Melissa and her two best friends were putting together, to the ways all their kids would be involved in the day. And let me tell you… the vision we heard back on October 2nd when we met up with Melissa and Tim absolutely came to LIFE on Saturday!!
We arrived at the lake a little early to scope everything out, and I immediately was swooning over the archway display that we saw right as we walked in! There were hay bales, pumpkins, mums, and gold letters and signs… SO perfect for fall! Then, we caught our first glimpse of the ceremony site, and I died a little bit more! The seats were actual hay bales with squares of burlap on top of them, and they all overlooked a lake with the most gorgeous fall foliage surrounding it! Obviously, we immediately knew it was going to be a good day!!
Melissa and Tim’s wedding day at Sangchris Lake was just FULL of purposefully thought out details and the most precious moments. Melissa and Tim’s first look had me tearing up behind my camera, Melissa’s little boy walked her down the aisle when it was time for the ceremony, and you could just feel how excited these guys were to finally be married. The best part? They are actually high school sweethearts! Isn’t life just crazy sometimes?!
Melissa and Tim… as we drove away on Saturday, I kept thinking how honored I was that you chose US to help you celebrate your gorgeous wedding day and the start of your forever! It was incredible to witness not only the love that you two have for each other, but also the love that your kids, family and sweet friends have for you, too! We hope you LOVE each and every photo and are so excited to send the rest off to you soon!! ????
