Whew, did we have a whirlwind weekend together! As you saw here on the blog yesterday, we kicked off a mini work trip with a drive to Springfield for Carli and Cody’s engagement collection, which was truly THE best way to start off our trip! Goodness did we love our time with these guys!! You can see more of that post HERE… trust me when I tell you that you do not want to miss this engagement session!
After spending the night with family on Thursday, we spent the morning working on some behind the scenes work for the business, including sharing Gina and Jason’s engagement session on Friday! In case you missed that post, you can see that right HERE!
We had a bit of a drive to get to Kansas, and of course, one of my first thoughts was “coffee.” I mean, it’s a total necessity for travel and mornings, am I right?! Here’s the thing… the highway route we were taking offered little to no exits PERIOD, much less any exits which had a Starbucks or a Dunkin Donuts! This girl was not happy, but we eventually found a Casey’s gas station. I caved and tried a caramel cappuccino, and it actually was okay! There’s no way I’m giving up my PSL’s and iced coffees, but it did the job.
Once we got to Kansas, we had the warmest welcome from our sweet family there! They had a bag filled with our favorite candies, a Kansas Starbucks mug (from a series of mugs by Starbucks that I’m actually collecting, which made my day!) and even some amazing barbecue sauce to take home! That night, we enjoyed some of that famous Kansas barbecue and loved getting to catch up with family and relax.
Saturday, we scouted locations for Luke’s cousin’s senior session that night. And ohh you guys, do I WISH we could have taken some of these locations home with us! Our last spot was my favorite. After a we stopped by Target for Starbucks coffees and a little fall decoration shopping, we headed out for a senior session and a family session, and we finished off the night at the most AMAZING pizza and ice cream places before heading back home Sunday morning.
We want to say a HUGE thank you to the Bachtold’s in KS for hosting us all weekend… we’re so grateful to be blessed with such a kind and loving family to stay with! We had such a wonderful time. Today, we’re in the office all day working hard on projects, fall updates and chatting with our brides, and it feels good to be back in the swing of things! Have a great week y’all!
