Remember the Coronavirus? This is what we will all be saying in a few months from now! Technology is amazing in a lot of ways! We are able to contact people all across the world in a matter of seconds and see their faces. We can even be anywhere in the world in 30 hours or less on a plane. What an amazing time period we live in! With all the pros that come with technology, there are also a lot of negatives! The biggest being how fast fear can be spread in such a short amount of time!
2 weeks ago we had stocked shelves with lots of toilet paper and food! 2 weeks ago our economy was doing amazing and the Coronavirus was a problem for the rest of the world! Today our world is changing by the day and updates are flooding in by the second. People are getting less sleep because their minds are filled with worry and anxiety. The towns we live in are becoming more and more like ghost towns as the government continues to close down stores and shops. With all this unrest, it’s easy to fall into the trap of letting negative thoughts rule your mind!
If you are filled with anxiety about the Coronavirus, the economy, your business, your future, your family’s future, etc. I want you to do something for me. I want you to remember that God is bigger than this.
God is here in these moments and he’s ready for you to seek him and to cast all your anxiety, worry, and stress on to him.(1 Peter 5:7) He truly wants you to be at peace during this time. If you don’t feel at peace, know that you have that opportunity. Isiah 66:1 says that Heaven is God’s throne and the Earth is his footstool. That means that nothing on this earth is bigger than him!
One day, in the future, we will casually bring up the Coronavirus in our conversations at family gatherings, over coffee with a friend, and talk about it to our kids in the years to come. Reminiscing about how it was to live through the 2020 Coronavirus! That’s all it will be in the future…a conversation starter. “Remember the Coronavirus?” I think that if you start to think of it that way now, it will be a whole lot less scary to you in the coming days and weeks!
Your mind is powerful and all the negativity going around can really get to you. Start each day with something you are thankful for even during this time. Specifically, look for the good moments that are coming from this unrest. Choose peace, choose optimism, and ultimately choose God.
Katharina Held, in our Photographers FB group, gave us some good scriptures to be thinking about and meditating on during this time!
“Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid.” ~ John 14:27
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” ~ 2 Timothy 1:7
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” ~ Joshua 1:9
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” ~ Matthew 6:34
“Tell everyone who is discouraged, Be strong and don’t be afraid! God is coming to your rescue…” ~ Isaiah 35:4
